Blackpool Restaurants

Part of the appeal of a romantic visit to Blackpool is that there are dozens of stunning restaurants that strike just the right mood to enhance that warm, fuzzy feeling. Here are some exquisite options for that romantic lunch or dinner.

Under the able direction of chef Michael Golowicz, September Brasserie has been a fixture in the Good Food Guide since it opened in 1990. They have set prices for two- and three-course meals.

For a restaurant with a Las Vegas flavor, White Tower on Ocean Boulevard is just what you need. Located within Blackpool Pleasure Beach, White Tower offers diners a great view of the seafront while enjoying modern British cuisine.

Kwizeen on King Street is relatively new but has already developed an excellent reputation for excellent cuisine, highlighted by traditional Lancashire dishes and seafood. It is ideal for a quiet dinner for two.

The Warehouse is a bit out of the way, tucked away in a small alley called Back Church Street, but offers an intimate and elegant setting for dinner.

AJ’s Bistro on Topping Street is a great little restaurant that oozes style and serves only the best food with the freshest ingredients. Chief Andrew Reeds has been dishing them out for over 20 years and isn’t afraid to let his imagination run wild.

For a truly spectacular meal, head to Twelve in the Marsh Mill Village, next to the historic windmill. It may be out of the way in Thornton, just outside the center of Blackpool, but the food here is truly a gourmet delight and Bib Gourmand highly recommends it. A former dance studio, Twelve serves traditional food with a modern twist.

To try something different, Blackpool also has a plethora of restaurants offering Chinese, Italian, Indian, Thai and even Afro-Caribbean cuisine.

The Magic Lantern on Coronation Street is a great place to enjoy authentic Chinese food. Another favorite among tourists is the Mandarin Cantonese restaurant on Clifton Street. They have been serving oriental cuisine for over 40 years and have earned multiple gold awards for serving the best food in the Northwest.

Payathai Restaurant on St. Anne’s Road is the place to go for Thai food. This charming spot boasts its own waterfall, topped by a wooden bridge, while the staff are dressed in traditional Thai clothing.

Central Blackpool has many curry houses for lovers of spicy Indian food. The most popular are Terry’s Balti House on Clifton Street and Spice of India on Queen Street.

For fine Greek cuisine, head to Giggis Tavern on Church Street and expect plenty of delicious food and traditional plate smashing.

La Fontana restaurant on Clifton Street is the most popular Italian restaurant in Blackpool and the place of choice for pizza and pasta lovers.

Partygoers will appreciate Lagoonda on Queen Street, where the atmosphere is lively and the cuisine is unique. There is no other place for great Afro-Caribbean dishes like fruity curries and pork.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach also has its share of great places to eat. If American food and Tex-Mex dishes are what your heart desires, then there’s no better place than Coasters American Diner.

No visit to Blackpool would be complete without sampling the locals’ seafood offerings such as thick fries and thin battered haddock or luxury delicacies such as shark fillets, prawns and oysters. There are many great seafood restaurants around.
The Golden Mile has dozens of fish restaurants. One of the best of the lot is the world famous Harry Ramsden restaurant in the center of the Promenade. This is where you will find the best fish and chips in all of Blackpool. It is a favorite of tourists throughout the year.

The Seniors Fish Bar and Restaurant on Normoss Road is another multi-award winning restaurant. Their menu includes a wide variety of seafood dishes, as well as vegetarian and non-seafood offerings.
