Common plumbing problems in the kitchen

For most homeowners, kitchen plumbing problems are generally basic. Since the kitchen is the most used area in the house, any plumbing problem, if left unchecked, can lead to major disasters and big expenses for homeowners. Some problems can be very small, but some require the help of a professional plumber.

leaky kitchen faucet

This causes wasted water and an annoying dripping sound during the day and night. The problem may be due to a deterred aerator, which is a small screen on the end of the faucet. If you find that there is an indication of fine particles when unscrewing the aerator, the water leak is most likely due to this obstruction. You can try letting the water flow without the aerator for a while and then fix everything again and check for leaks again. If it continues, then the problem could be with the washer or the o-ring seal.

Clogged or leaking kitchen sink

Another common problem faced in kitchen plumbing is a clogged or leaking kitchen sink. Things like oil and cleaner often gag the trap under the kitchen sink that is placed to keep sewer gas away from home. It should be unscrewed from the sink and cleaned before being put back on. Leaks may be due to a break in the downspouts. Prefer to call the plumber for this if you don’t want to experiment doing the same thing yourself

Low water pressure in the kitchen sink

You may experience low water pressure coming out of your kitchen faucet. Again, this may be due to a clogged aerator. You have to clean it to fix the problem.

Not enough or no hot water

If the heater is too small, it may not get enough hot water supply or clogged pipes cause water to flow in and out of the heater. Or probably the accessory is old enough and worn out. You must fix this to solve the problem and get the continuous flow of hot water. If the fittings are plastic, you may also need to replace them.

Clogged Drains

Another common kitchen problem homeowners face is clogged drains. This is due to the continuous removal of garbage, grease, soap and other garbage that continually flows down. There are various ways you can try to fix it like plunger, vinegar and baking soda etc but if nothing works better then you need to get the help of an expert.

These may seem like common problems that we may face from time to time, but if not noticed, they can lead to a bigger disaster that can even lead to the complete change of accessories and cost extra in the pockets.
