Book Report Project – Game Show Style

Do you need to do a book report? Why not turn it into a game? What game are you asking? Try doing a book report like the game Jeopardy. You can set up the book report information by making the answers for all the information you present and asking your audience or teacher to guess the questions.

You can make easy points like the minimum amount of dollars, like the characters and the most important points of the book or the conflicts can be the most expensive questions or answers.

Your colleagues will study the report and your presentation much more. You could even offer candy or something as part of a reward for guessing the answers correctly and the person with the most candy could use that to bet on the final risk or double risk questions. You could make that more difficult or the information more important.

This can even encourage other students to read your book if you make it enjoyable and interesting enough for everyone involved. You will enjoy creating this project as well. If your audience or teacher won’t be interacting with you for this style of book reporting, it will still work and be a lot of fun.

This may seem strange, but give your answer with information about your characters. The question will be the name of the character. Describe the moment in which the story takes place. The questions will be the actual time frame, such as the time period of 1930.

You can create a poster board that shows categories about your book, such as characters, setting, conflicts, problems, or whatever the book is about. While talking about the answer, you could place a flap on the poster board and say here is the question and flip up the flat part that reveals the question. It may not be as exciting as interacting with the class, but it will still be different than a normal book report.

As you go, the answers and questions for each category and topic reveal that information. This will lead through the book to the final question. This could be the issue of double jeopardy.
