Buying a used Bentley

With contemporary news headlines screaming pessimism about the economy, while the escalating costs of motorsport suffocating the average motorist, buying a Bentley is very likely the last thing on your mind right now. However, from time to time it is good to treat yourself to something nice. If it’s the luxury engine that turns you on and you’ve got some cash rolling in the bank, why not indulge yourself in buying a Bentley? Of course, times are really tough, so we all need to know where we spend our money. But this is where buying a used Bentley comes in!

Buying a used Bentley is probably not the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a Bentley. But they exist! In fact, buying a used Bentley is a pretty sure way to get you the car you want, at a price you can’t complain about. Take Bentley’s acclaimed model, the Continental GT. Possibly THE best Grand Tourer out there, countless celebrities and businessmen alike are the proud owners of this style icon. The beautiful look speaks for itself, while the 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged W12 monster under the hood ensures a smile on your face when you need it.

New, one of these would have cost you around £ 110,000. Yes, that’s a lot of money, but go for a 1-year model with 4,000 miles on the clock and you’ll be looking to spend around £ 95,000. Yes, it’s still a lot of money, but if it’s within your budget and it’s the car you’re looking for, is it surely worth the savings? At the other end of the scale, a five-year-old model with 40,000 miles on the clock will cost you around £ 50,000. Obviously, increasing maintenance and running costs would be something to consider, but you can’t ignore that huge drop in price!

Having said that, there is always a downside to every argument. If you’re on a £ 50,000 budget, buying a used Bentley might not be your best option. Buying a new BMW 5 series or Audi S8 might be a smarter choice – you get a new car, with a warranty, or other similar services. If your budget is a bit higher, say around £ 90,000, a new Audi R8 could soon be in your garage … Tempting? Well, it’s your choice and your money. £ 100,000 is a huge amount of money, money no one would want to waste!
