Content marketing is the marketing of new articles

What’s going on with article marketing? I think it is as powerful as it used to be, but now it is part of a much larger dynamic that we call content marketing. You see, when I started article marketing, I could completely dominate Google just by doing it. It would provide the content that Google wanted, it would provide the links that they wanted, and it would be able to do almost anything it wanted with pagerank and rankings on search pages on volume alone.

Now, Google has done what I predicted years ago: filtering against the spinning, spam, and duplicate content that became so popular due to the ease of use of am to dominate Google. So when I wrote an article, I built it to survive Google’s final cut in the old style of article marketing.

And now that they have finally filtered out the bad results of article-based search results (what some call the Panda update, although there are likely a lot more algorithmic changes that affect the rude manipulation of search rankings with the Google ant-spam and ant-Google policy article writing), article marketing can ONLY be done the way I taught, which is solid content, original content, please do not submit the same content to multiple directories except in one case specific.

What Google is looking for now is content. Happy original. And now I think content marketing is 10 times more important than it was when I started getting Google rankings. I was one of the first to push content as a way to consistently get traffic from Google, and I predicted that Google would filter spam over time, and that’s one of the reasons I built my business that way. Now, it is essential for everyone who wants traffic from Google. So I think it’s 10 times more important, and I think the demand will be 10 times higher now than it was when I cut my teeth teaching article marketing.

Where previously items could be used to control search rankings, things are a bit more complicated now. The principles are the same, but the approach is more along the lines of what most people call content marketing. I think it will become the backbone of SEO, just like for years article marketing was a fundamental piece of SEO (although, technically, link building was the backbone of manipulating search rankings).
