Enjoy a SoCal vacation in a San Diego vacation rental

There are many good reasons to give San Diego vacation rentals preference over local area hotels. The most important is that most visitors come here for family or beach vacations on the Pacific coast of Southern California. There is no better way to do it than in a house facing the sea.

Guests can step out of their homes and head straight onto the sandy beach with the Pacific stretching out in front of them. It should also be noted that renting a house, condo or apartment will be much less expensive for large families and groups and for those who need an extended stay. It also provides much more space and facilities than a hotel suite, while a hotel room is nowhere near as good as a rental.

The only real question left to answer is which part of San Diego has the best options and what facilities to expect there. By far the most popular location to rent is Mission Beach and Mission Bay. There are houses that are right on the beach here, and condos on the Boardwalk with Mission Bay just a block away.

Ocean views are completely unobstructed, and all major attractions are 5-15 minutes away. This includes Pacific Beach, Belmont Park, Crystal Pier, Zoo and Sea World, downtown, and the airport. Mission Beach is a bit more affordable than a Mission Bay rental, which is probably more upscale.

Other popular locations for San Diego vacation rentals include Oceanside, La Jolla, Carlsbad, Coronado, Del Mar, and Encinitas. Keep in mind that each area has its own specific types of visitors who enjoy nearby local attractions. For example, those in Carlsbad may be looking for a family vacation to Legoland, while La Jolla is famous for its outdoor activities and secluded beaches.

Whatever the choice of location or rental type, all visitors can expect an ocean view with the property near (if not on) the beach. Kitchens and dining rooms will be fully equipped to prepare and serve meals. Multiple bedrooms and bathrooms are common, and everything from 2- and 3-bedroom single-family units to large group homes with 5 or 6 bedrooms and sofa beds in the living room are available.

All the modern conveniences such as wi-fi, flat-screen televisions, DVD players, and entertainment systems are likely to be available. There will be one free reserved parking spot available on the property, and there will be no shortage of nearby facilities such as shops, restaurants and clubs and bars for entertainment. The bottom line here is that the only thing keeping more visitors from opting for San Diego vacation rentals over a hotel is a lack of awareness of how good and affordable the rentals are.
