Explore the Official Wild Side of Kenting National Park! This area was formerly completely submerged by seawater, leaving behind striking coral sea cliffs and oddly shaped rock faces. The terrain is a result of thousands of years of ocean activity. The result is an amazingly diverse landscape that is truly awe-inspiring.
The area also features a stunning beach with soft sand. You can ride one of the electric scooters that run along the shoreline. Getting around on foot is difficult, as the beaches are spread out too far apart. Although there is a bus system, it takes too long to figure out how to get from one beach to another.
A visit to Kenting National Park is not complete without a visit to Fairy Cave. A cave shaped like a fairy, the Fairy Cave is one of the most popular attractions in the area. There are also narrow passages that weave through hefty limestone rock. The Official Wild Side of Kenting National Park has a variety of landscapes and geological features. Whether you want to experience the beauty of the wetlands or hike among the crags, this park has something to offer.
Kenting National Park is situated in the extreme southern tip of Taiwan. It’s a beautiful location with lush vegetation and many beaches. The area is also home to several named mountains, including Wanlideshan, which is 527 metres tall. There are many other things to see in the park, and the park is divided into two parts: the north and south. The north contains the Hengchun Longituinal Valley Plain and the southern section has coral-covered tablelands.

There are over 200 species of migratory birds that use the Kenting National Forest Recreation Area. The most popular species is the gray-faced eagle. This bird crosses the border in tens of thousands and spends the night on the Hengchun Peninsula in the autumn. It’s also home to a number of other species of birds.
Visitors can also enjoy a magnificent view from the top of Kenting Mountain. This natural wonder is made possible by the northeast monsoon, which blows sand from the cliffs to the surface. It’s a short, undemanding climb, but the views of the sea and glowing sunsets will definitely be worth it.
The main town of Kenting National Park is Hengchun, which is also home to the ancient city gates. These gates are in remarkably good condition and command a powerful presence. The FFF Hotel is located near the old South Gate, and is just 730 metres from the Hengchun Bus Station. The hotel offers a restaurant and a sun terrace, as well as a kids’ play area.
Traveling by train from Taitung to Kenting will take you roughly three hours. The trip to Kenting is best done on a weekend, if you’re travelling with a group. Take note that you’ll need to purchase a ticket with a return ticket!
