Few will argue that when it comes to online game rentals, the two most used services are Gamefly and Gamerang. Both companies have a well-established business and an ever-growing member base. Gamefly has distribution centers in California, Pennsylvania, Texas and Florida. At this point it’s a tie and I’m sure more crosses will show up. For now, assume that either service will give you a new game in 4-7 days from the time you mail yours.

One of the biggest questions is how much will it cost? This is the current pricing structure for both:

Price-wise, Gamefly beats Gamerang in every category. Also, Gamefly has a 10-day free trial, while Gamerang does not. However, Gamerang does come with a free one-year subscription to Wired Magazine. If it’s worth the extra cost, at least it’s something to count on.

I heard that Gamerang has a longer customer service history than gamefly. However, Gamefly is going strong with its attempt to curb this complaint. Whether or not Gamefly is up to date with their customer service now, Gamerang has a bigger positive feedback than Gamefly.

Gamerang has a great service to offer, but when you line up between pros and pros, Gamely simply has more. Now, with its Gamefly rewards program, customers are further rewarded with incentives based on how long they’ve been a member. However, Gamerang did accomplish one thing. When gamefly was lackluster service, Gamerang came in and stole a lot of the spotlight with better service and faster deliveries. However, this made Gamefly even better because now they not only match Gamerang but far exceed them.
