So now you have a site up and running! The next step, the most important step, is to appear in various search engines and directories! For this you will have seen various services provided on the net “Automatically submit your site to 100,000 search engines and directories”, these are just useless… You can try this! Simply go to the addurl section of the most used search engine, Google.com. When you add a URL there, people say that your URL is ‘queued’ to be indexed and it can take 4-6 weeks before it shows up there.
You’d be thinking ‘I wasted all my time and effort just waiting!’ So here is the solution of this, just type your key phrase in the google search box. COM and see the page rank of the sites (you would need to have the Google toolbar installed to know the page rank of the website). Now find sites that have PR greater than 5 or 6. These are the sites that are most important to Googlebots! Google bots index these sites regularly within a day or two. The next thing you’d like to do is have a link exchange program with some good PR sites!

No, let me explain. Let Google search your site instead of searching Google by indexing your site! When you exchange links with a site that has a PR of 5 or 6, then your site is guaranteed to be indexed in Google in less than 48 hours!
Now, think if you manage to exchange links with sites that have PR’s 7 or 8… then your site would be listed by Google robots in less than 24 hours!
