Mercilessly

These are the times that test the souls of men. If you really think about it. Today’s times of so much anger, hatred, confusion, and bewilderment over what is happening to our world defy logic. From a pandemic that should never have been, to an unimaginable global humanitarian crisis and our own government, where those little minds (Republicans and Democrats) continue to tear this nation apart, contributes to humanity’s downward trajectory.

In the United States, those little minds in government continue to tackle contingencies that have had no effect in alleviating the dire conditions faced by millions of people every day. Instead, they have once again shown how pathetic, callous and arrogant the powers of the government really are.

In the years since JFK and even since 1809, members of Congress have shown continued self-preservation that has only grown over time. By the time JFK took office, members of Congress had managed to acquire the vibe and prestige that has only been associated with royalty.

Today, when much of the country is ravaged by the pandemic, where the loss of jobs and the personal income of millions of people has sent too many Americans into the vicious cycle of poverty, the widespread attitudes of not just Republicans, but many Democrats align with Marie Antoinette’s attitude that royalty had before the French Revolution. The provisions of this latest stimulus bill, The American Rescue Plan, have already shown the world that the United States is indeed a country without mercy.

The misery of the one-time stimulus of $ 1,400 for people whose income threshold is below $ 75,000 that was rigorously fought by 50% of Congress is symbolic of the way our government has transformed this country into a merciless nation. . Because seniors who have endured the brunt of the government’s financial and economic failures are now at the mercy of the government and the financial industry. The same industry that not only caused the worst financial disaster in 2008 by bailing them out and now Congress has once again rewarded the same financial institutions with the way the dispersal of stimulus payments was authorized.

The disproportionate way in which both the financial industry and Congress have acted toward the American citizen for decades is astonishing. This is especially true with this latest act of generosity. It is appalling that too many have suffered so much from irresponsible acts that our government continues to act in response to the many crises facing millions of Americans.

Today, it is really not very beautiful what a country can do without mercy. We are bewildered by the world we see. We keep wondering why people hurt so many people. It is because we live in a country without mercy. Now many around the world keep talking about how bad we really are. The way those little minds in Congress behave keeps millions living like animals in a cage.

America faces many issues where this country needs understanding and benevolent leadership, but instead those little minds continue to tear this nation apart. The way they have tried to help the American citizen has only underscored their contempt for the less fortunate. And now we wonder how we can keep hope alive when we live in a country without mercy. No, it really is not very beautiful what a country continues to do without mercy.
