Soap Vs Shower Gel Vs Bath Salts – The Pros And Cons

Most people use soap by default to clean their bodies when they shower, but shower gels and bath salts are two other very popular bath products. In addition to everyday cleaning, these are also popular gift items that can be used for almost any event. Before choosing which one to use for your daily routine or what to give out at a party, it’s important to weigh the pros and cons of using each bath product.

If soaps are part of your souvenir gifts, know that the three different types of bath products—soap, gel, and bath salts—can be nice to some and not so nice to others. Here are some of the pros and cons of each item:

soap
Pros: Soap can come in bars, soap chips, and sheets. Bars can come in many different sizes, shapes, and colors, making them great party favors. Soap chips are great because they can be placed in cute sealed jars decorated with ribbons. Then there are the soap sheets. These leaves can be shaped into flowers. Some even turn into roses and are presented to girlfriends as gifts. They not only look like roses, but also have a rose scent. Soap is very easy to store. They can be used for the bathroom, powder room, or kitchen, and are typically the least expensive bathroom product.

Cons: There are some soaps that can be very harsh and it is best to find out exactly what the main ingredients of the soap are. There are some people who react strongly to lye, while others may react strongly to some oils in soap. Hypoallergenic soaps are also a bit more expensive than regular soaps and fancy shaped hypoallergenic soaps are harder to find. Soap is also the least glamorous bath item compared to gel and bath salts.

Freeze
Pros: Many people prefer to receive gels in dispensers as gifts because they are colorful, attractive, scented and just plain pretty. The gels are really attractive packs and there’s no denying that someone who gets one will definitely use it. Until now, gels are one of the most popular forms of soaps. Since they come in a single body, they are also easier to transport when traveling.

Cons: Some containers can break since most are made of thin plastic. Having a break will result in a leak. Also, some people may not like the slimy texture and it’s a bit more difficult than just running a bar of soap over your body since you have to keep pumping the gel out when you need more.

Bath salts
Pros: Everyone loves bath salts because they can be used at times when relaxing your muscles is a must, especially after a stressful day. Soaking in a tub of warm water and bath salts is sure to inspire everyone and knowing the salts are there will make them even more grateful. Bath salts are also colorful, so they make beautiful gift items when placed in clear jars.

Cons: Bath salts, necessary or not, are always welcome because they are the kind of gift that can be saved for emergencies and knowing that they are there and not having to run for them is more of an advantage than a disadvantage. Bath salts are usually the most expensive bath product. Another drawback is that they can sometimes clog shower drains if the salt pieces are too large.
