Stop Biting Dogs – Be a Responsible Dog Owner, Solve This Problem Immediately

Why does the owner have to answer when his pet did something wrong? Clearly, the animal has its own instinct that dictates its own actions, right? Well yes, but this responsibility comes with ownership or adoption. In plain words, you should stop biting dogs by practicing responsible ownership.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends the following to reduce the chances, if not stop, of dog bite mishaps:

  • Research the right breed for your home and neighborhood. You can consult a breeder, a veterinarian, an animal behaviorist or all of them.
  • Test your prospect. Before adopting a dog, take time to be with him and observe how he behaves. That short observation time will not stop the dog biting incident in the future, but at least you will be able to see inappropriate behaviors.
  • Be careful if you have children. If your child is afraid of a dog, it is better to delay the adoption. Children are prone to dog bites because they are perceived as “prey” by dogs, their visual level is close to that of dogs, etc.
  • Have your dog sterilized. Studies claim that if they are not neutered, they are three times more likely to bite.
  • Let him meet people and other dogs. You can stop dog bite accidents by introducing your pet to new situations.
  • Leave your dog alone when he is eating or sleeping. Reiterate this to the children.
  • Do not play games with your pet that encourage biting, such as “tug of war.”
  • All dogs have teeth, so don’t go near one you don’t know.
  • Be aware of your body language. Eye contact with a threatening dog is reason enough for it to bite you.
  • As soon as you notice your pet displaying aggressive behaviors such as game biting in the simplest form, consult the professionals listed above to prevent dog bite incidents from occurring.

To stop biting dogs, it’s best to start early; It can be seen as bad behavior but it is also part of the natural instincts of canines. Understanding the natural behavior and mannerism of your pets is the key to successful training.
