The Edge Horse Racing System: A Review

In my experience with horse racing systems, it is unusual for promoters to say anything about how the system works. To find out, he must hand over his money before “the magic secret” is revealed. Most of the time this turns out to be neither magic nor secret. This, however, is not the case with Steve Carter’s “The Edge” system.

Steve, the author of several successful systems, is not shy about introducing himself and saying what the system is all about. The Edge system works only on the flat in handicap races. Basically, it highlights horses that are improving faster than their handicap mark.

The system identifies handicapped horses at potentially false low weights due to their improvement. Having identified these “improvers”, it is suggested that you back them up to your next 3 races. Once they have won a race, you stop following them, as the handicap will surely move them up the weights. If they don’t win in three races, you remove them from your roster.

The Edge system has shown a profit of £29,118 over 6 months during 2008. This was offset by backing 800 races at stake level and finding 260 winners. Even betting €10 you could have won almost €3,000 during last year’s flat season. Year-to-date, The Edge system shows a gain of 108 points as of June 16.

Using the system you can expect to average 4 or 5 bets per day and it is unusual not to get at least one winner per day. As you use the system, you will create a list of horses to follow. However, if you buy The Edge, you can simply log on to Steve’s website to see the full current list of horses to watch. This can help you compare your list to Steve’s or just use your list to apply the system.

For buyers of The Edge, Steve will send out a daily listing by phone or online indicating which classifieds are running that day. His service will continue until the end of the current flat racing season. Also, when he buys, he will receive a list of current horses to follow so he can start using the system right away if he wishes.

My only criticism of the system is that presumably if you want to continue to get the updates next year there will be an additional payment. However, by then you’ll either have gotten into the practice of finding the horses to follow yourself, or you’ll have found the system so profitable that you won’t mind paying for the extra service.

The system log speaks for itself and the thinking behind it seems solid. If you are looking for a reliable system that can continue to bring you profits for the foreseeable future, it is well worth a look in my opinion.
