Farmville can be tricky for newbies. However, it’s pretty simple once you’ve played it a few times.
The Big 6: Buttons at the bottom right of your computer screen
the multitool
The most useful button is the multitool button. Normally you’ll want to have the cursor set to this. Click the one that looks like your normal mouse cursor to set your cursor to the multi tool. It’s the first button there. This will then change to whatever you need. It becomes the harvesting tool if you mouse over a regular crop. It transforms into the plow tool if you mouse over a fallow field.

The plow tool is the second in the top row, the one that looks identical to a green hoe. You’ll use it to create new fields and plow fallen soil so it’s ready for planting.
The Shovel = Delete Tool
When your cursor changes to this, be very careful. Don’t click all over the place! It will start removing things on your property; every thing you click on will display this message:
“ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO DELETE “(item name)”?” Click
The market
At the bottom right of your screen, you can find a button with a tomato and a pepper with the text MARKET. It will transfer you to the Market when you click on it. You can buy things in the Market. Photos of the seeds you want to buy and a price below can be viewed in the Marketplace. It will also reveal how much xp an item earns you and how much a field square will harvest. Each field square carries 1 unit of seeds, the cost you see in the Market. Items marked LOCKED are currently inaccessible to you due to your level. You will unlock additional items as you level up. You will see tabs for Animals, Seeds, Decorations, Buildings, Expand Farm plus Vehicles. Look at a number of things you might want to buy. If you want to know what you want to plant, you will spend most of your time browsing the seed catalog.

Look at the button with the blue ribbon. That’s your Ribbons segment that keeps track of all your achievements. Scroll on and take a look if you want to see what you need to collect the next color of ribbon for an achievement or just feel proud of your accomplishments.
Buttons at the Top of the Screen
You can see three brown buttons stacked on top of each other at the top left of the screen. When you move your mouse over them, they’ll display a message to show you what they control:
Eye: toggles the graphic quality
Speaker: turn the sound on and off
Musical note: turn music on or off
Next, if you look to your right, you will see a green button with a stack of gold coins next to it. This is the amount of Farm Coins you have. The amount will change with your purchases and harvests.
You can see a blue button with a plus sign that says “ADD COINS AND CASH” below it. It will take you to a page where you can buy Farm Coins and Cash for real money, so don’t click here.
On the far right, the blue button on the far right shows you how much Farm Cash you have. You will earn a Farm Cash for each level you reach.
In the middle of the top screen is the xp bar, blue with a star attached to it. As you receive points through different farming activities, the experience bar fills up.
The little brown button with the speech bubble will allow you to leave a message in your field for other people. It’s a good way to show requests or show appreciation.
Your farm name is on the far right side of your screen. It should say the Farm of (your name). At this time, you cannot change the name of your farm.
