What do business psychology and feng shui have in common?

I know, a weird title and an even weirder combination of themes. Bear with me for a second – I have been trading since 2001. In my trading journey I learned a great thing, which I call the Unified Theory of Trading Success. This is that absolutely everything is connected.

Let me explain:

Traders and humans in general are so used to thinking in boxes that we overlook the biggest and simplest law of our existence that influences how we create our (trading) success. I’m talking about how consciousness works.

Consciousness pervades everything, that is the universal law.

This law basically means that everything you see and experience in your trading world is first experienced through your consciousness, before you become aware of the individual boxes your mind has set up as a filter system, so you can make sense of it. to all things. different experiences.

Here’s the problem: your mind processes most of your experiences subconsciously.

The tendency to see things separately creates a biased view of the world. It also makes you take the wrong action, because you act on the illusion of separation as if it were real.

Box thinking prevents you from seeing what Feng Shui and trading have in common.

Have you ever considered that consciousness literally sees everything before you place a value on experience?

For example: You value a good business setup as worthy of your attention, just as you would value a nice beach as motivation to develop better business habits. However, you know that the beach is not your reality today, because your office is dark and it is raining or snowing outside. That is your reality as you see it.

Are you getting where I want to get with this?

Of course, you’ve seen the images of merchants sitting by the beach or driving a Ferrari. The idea behind these images, usually broker ads, is to entice you to trade them not because they are the best brokers, but because your inexperienced mind is greedy. He wants the Ferrari and the beach lifestyle NOW.

Almost too simple, right?

If you are an experienced trader or an experienced investor, you will know how these “little” desires that lie deep in the emotional part of the brain influence your behavior.

Imagine how your trading mind would relax if every time you walked into your trading room, you saw a beautiful desk and a nice piece of art. Your conscious trading mind reasons that you just need a good chart.

How wrong are you:

Every time your business mind sees something that is beautiful, it stimulates a feel-good factor that makes you want to perform better. The brain doesn’t “see” the art object, but rather what it associates with that art object: like wealth, success, or security, the key motivators that drive us to continue, even when we’re going through a rough patch

Remember: your brain does not think in terms of now and tomorrow. Your brain only sees now in each moment.

The next time you walk into your office, look around you, but with your CONSCIOUS mind turned on. See what subliminal messages your office is sending to your business brain. I think you will be surprised.
