We recently received some information from Blizzard regarding the Cataclysm Prologue event that will take place after the release of Patch 3.9. This prologue is called Assault on Two Fronts as a working name and it could change by the time patch 3.9 arrives, but the idea is that Gnomeregan and Echo Isles take the initiative to make drastic changes and take their future into their own hands. This is what the Trolls will look like.
 
Vol’jin: Glory of the Darkspears
 
Trolls are known as a race of savage, bloodthirsty, and ruthless killers. However, one tribe of trolls makes an exception to this rule and has become a valued and trusted member of the Horde: the Darkspear tribe and their leader, Vol’jin. Though the Horde and Alliance hate most trolls, the Darkspear trolls and their leader Vol’jin have earned Warchief Thrall’s trust and respect, and Vol’jin is considered one of his closest advisors. and cunning war strategists of Thrall.
 
The Darkspear tribe has a long and difficult history behind them: a tragic story of exile, flight and seeking refuge, barely surviving. His homeland, taken over by a more powerful tribe of Gorubashi trolls, his home island, destroyed by a powerful sea witch. The Darkspear tribe had a difficult past. Fortunately for them, they met Thrall and his orcs and were accepted, although they were not completely trusted as part of the Horde at first. The Darkspear tribe made their new home on the Echo Isles off the coast of Durotar. However, Darkspear’s bad luck did not stop there, and soon Zalazane, one of the most magically powerful trolls among the Darkspear trolls, was driven mad by immense powers he could not control. The Darkspear tribe once again fled, making their new home near the Sen’jin village in hopes that this time they can finally live normally and rebuild their society.
 
Now, Vol’jin has decided that it is time for the Darkspear trolls to retake the Echo Isles and attack Zalazane once and for all. Vol’jin and his trolls will not be alone in this battle: his bravery over the years alongside the Horde has earned them the respect of other noble races. Orcs, tauren, blood elves and undead will join forces once again to reclaim what was the land of Darkspear, the legacy Vol’jin left to his father Sen’jin. The Echo Isles will be a fine land of strategic importance to the Horde and worth retaking, to the Darkspear tribe, to the Horde, and last but not least to Vol’jin and his dream of a lifetime. better for his tribe, as his father wanted it to be.
